I knew I wanted to use my writing skills and I wanted to make a difference – I was open to wherever that would lead.

My favourite place has to be in one of the studios, in fact anywhere were students can be found developing ideas, putting them into practice through making and testing, and then showing them to others for critique and lively exchange

Bachelor of Business, Marketing, 1994.
My favourite space is the cafe area and library at RMIT city campus, Melbourne. I’d always travel between the library, my workplace and my apartment. The library made me concentrate and study, while cafe was all about having fun with friends after all the hard work.

On campus, there was a big communal pattern making studio and in our fourth year and final year we thought we were entitled to the space so we would come in and work there all night.

In between classes we would hang out at Mr Tulk or the Oxford, and if you were lucky you could get onto the RMIT Wi-Fi from there!

From The Editor

This magazine is created for RMIT alumni, by alumni, giving you insights into some fascinating stories from individual alumni, as well as ways to connect to RMIT and our alumni community. Our talented alumni have been involved in every element of the magazine, including interviews, writing, photography and design. There are some wonderful design features to this innovative digital magazine: as you scroll through each story you’ll notice each story floats over an image showcasing RMIT campuses, or more photos from the story. You’ll also notice each story indicates ways you can connect to RMIT – so please take advantage of these opportunities. Finally, do send us your feedback and ideas on this magazine, we’d love to hear from you: alumni@rmit.edu.au
